1. What is high-purity aluminum oxide?
In short, high-purity aluminum oxide refers to the aluminum oxide whose impurities must be controlled at ppm (one millionth) level. It is generally white powder, with uniform particle size, easy dispersion and stable chemical properties. Like alumina, high-purity alumina can be divided into α- Alumina and γ- Aluminum oxide (see the Aluminum Oxide Classification issued by Yangzhou Zhongtianli for details).

2. High purity alumina production process
At present, the processes of domestic alumina manufacturers are different, mainly including carbonization process, Bayer process, double aluminum process, rapid powder removal hydration process, ammonium aluminum sulfate process, metal aluminum hydration process and alcohol salt hydrolysis process. Among them, Sumitomo of Japan and Sasol of Germany both use the alkoxide hydrolysis method to prepare high-purity aluminum oxide, and its high-purity aluminum oxide can reach 5N+. Yangzhou Zhongtianli is one of the few companies that uses this process to prepare high-purity aluminum oxide in China.
3. Application field of high-purity alumina
The application field of high-purity aluminum oxide is very wide. At present, the industries that Xiaobian has been exposed to include: lithium diaphragm industry, functional ceramics industry, precision polishing industry, sapphire industry, fluorescent material industry, catalyst industry, and recent popular 3D printing industry. Each industry has very different requirements for the indicators of high-purity aluminum oxide, which can be said that high-purity aluminum oxide has great potential as a new material.
4. Price of high-purity alumina
As mentioned above, the price of high-purity alumina varies greatly depending on the indicator requirements of various industries. The purity is 99.9%, and the minimum high-purity aluminum oxide without other special requirements can be 20000-30000/ton. However, if the polishing industry and 3D printing industry have detailed requirements for product indicators, the price can reach 1000000-200000/ton.
